Margie Collins stated there is a need for volunteers to help TN Board of Probation and Parole distribute TBI card kits (children’s DNA swabs and fingerprinting) at the Apple Festival Friday and Saturday Oct. 3rd and 4th. Volunteers are also needed to help give out prevention bracelets. The Northeast Tennessee Council will hold the next quarterly council meeting on Friday, at the Johnson City Library. The event will begin at 10:00 AM. The Cradle to Prison Pipeline, a project of the Children's Defense Fund will be the topic. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

WE NEED YOU.. On October 11th, the Johnson City Police Department will be participating in Say YES to Fishing, NO to drugs actvity. The 6th annual Economic Summit will take place on . There will be keynote speakers and breakout sessions facilitating discussion on five focus areas including “livable communities” and “education and workforce development”. October 26th at ETSU at 2 p.m Bucs Against Drunk Driving (BADD) Prevention Program FREE!!
In connection with Alcohol Awareness Week (the third week in October) on Sunday, BADD will provide a prevention program. It is free, but limited to the first 200 youths who arrive. Contact Jerry Hughes for more information.
