According to the World Health Organization, "Smokers are likely to be more vulnerable to COVID-19 as the act of smoking means that fingers (and possibly contaminated cigarettes) are in contact with lips which increases the possibility of transmission of virus from hand to mouth. Smokers may also already have lung disease or reduced lung capacity which would greatly increase risk of serious illness."

American Lung Association: Freedom from Smoking

Our in-person Freedom From Smoking group clinics include eight sessions led by a certified facilitator with a small group held throughout the country. The program features a step-by-step plan for quitting smoking and each session is designed to help smokers gain control over their behavior. Because no single quit smoking plan is right for all smokers, the program presents a variety of evidence-based techniques for individuals to combine into their own plan to quit smoking. The clinic format also encourages participants to work on the process and problems of quitting both individually and as part of a group.
